Gran Vía is located in the center of the capital and is subject to traffic pollution reduction regulations, also known as Madrid 360. This plan aims to comply with the European Commission's emission limits. Therefore, within the next few years, there will be many limitations depending on the car model. Specifically, vehicles will be divided into 3 categories:

  • Cars with a C label can circulate freely in Madrid 360 as long as they are "high occupancy" (2 or more passengers). If they have the C label but are not high occupancy, they must go directly to a parking lot upon entering Madrid 360;
  • Those with a B label from the DGT can only enter Madrid 360 if they park in an underground parking lot;
  • Type A vehicles (diesel registered before 2006 and gasoline registered before 2000) cannot circulate in Madrid 360.
