Cologne/Bonn Airport, known as Flughafen Köln/Bonn locally, is the seventh-busiest airport in Germany and has flights to 35 countries. Parking at Cologne/Bonn Airport is always simple with OnePark.
Cologne/Bonn Airport
Cologne/Bonn Airport is located in the Porz district, about 15 kilometres southeast of Cologne's city centre and 16 kilometres northeast of Bonn's downtown area. The airport serves over 12 million people annually and is one of the country's only 24-hour terminals.
A brief history of Cologne/Bonn Airport
The site that now hosts Cologne/Bonn Airport was originally a military training area and airfield, dating back to 1913. The British military overtook the airport following World War II and built a runway. The airport opened to civilian traffic in 1951 and a terminal was opened in the 1970s. A second terminal was constructed on the site in the late 1990s, opening in 2000, followed by a long-distance train station in 2004.
Cologne/Bonn Airport terminals
There are two terminals at Cologne/Bonn Airport, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is the older of the two buildings and is home to the check-in areas for Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Germanwings and Eurowings. Terminal 2 is used by KLM, Ryanair and other airlines. The two terminals are connected by an airside departure hall and a landside walkway. Each terminal also has a direct connection to the railway station, making it easy to reach both Cologne and Bonn. Since the airport serves two major cities, parking at Cologne/Bonn Airport is at a premium.
