History of the soils

This district was the scene of many changes before becoming the one we know today. A wall intended to protect the city from a possible attack by Dombes stood there. It disappeared definitively during the development of the gardens of the town hall in 1617. It was in 1578 that the grounds of the Place des Terreaux were filled in.
